Work Starts to Create a Thriving Community in the Heart of Wakefield
Work has now begun on one of Wakefield’s most exciting new chapters, as we start to breathe new life into the city’s historic Civic Quarter. The Wood Street Collection, a project we are proudly delivering through our residential arm, Fallowdale Homes, will transform this overlooked gem into a truly fantastic place to call home.
We have always seen the incredible potential in this corner of the city. It’s a place where connectivity, culture, and a strong sense of community converge amongst some of the nation’s most prized architecture, including the magnificent Courthouse and Town Hall. Our vision is to nurture this unique character, creating a thoughtfully designed neighbourhood that blends respectfully with its distinguished surroundings.
This is about creating homes with real personality and atmosphere. The collection will offer a diverse range of living spaces, including contemporary three-storey townhouses on Rishworth Street, complete with upper-floor terraces and parking. Alongside these, a series of artistically designed mews homes will take shape, woven into the historic fabric of Gills Yard.

As guardians of the area’s heritage, we are also undertaking the meticulous restoration of the Old Police Station to create a number of unique apartments for rent, while the former superintendent’s residence, Wood House, will be sensitively restored and offered for sale—a rare opportunity to own a piece of Wakefield’s story.
We invite you to witness the start of this transformation and discover a new way of living in the heart of the city.
