Waterside: New Life and Light for a Leeds Landmark

On the edge of Leeds city centre stood a Grade II listed former mill complex, a powerful reminder of the city’s industrial past

Where some saw a relic, we saw potential. Our vision was to breathe new life into these historic buildings, to transform the site into a vibrant, modern workplace, proving that even the most robust industrial heritage can be sensitively reimagined for a new era.

A Landmark Reimagined

Our approach was to honour the mill’s strong character while infusing it with contemporary style and purpose.

A Modern Workplace: We converted the historic complex into a 4,000 sqm contemporary office development, creating a highly desirable and functional environment.

Contemporary Additions: The restoration of the original fabric was complemented by carefully designed contemporary additions, allowing old and new to work seamlessly together.

Artful Illumination: We incorporated a distinctive lighting scheme into the project, transforming the building after dark into a piece of public art that enlivens the waterside setting.

Today, Waterside is a thriving hub, fully occupied by a major government department and bustling with new energy.

This successful transformation demonstrates our commitment to finding creative and sustainable new uses for historic buildings, creating spaces with character and atmosphere that contribute lasting value to the city.
