Stonebridge Beck: A New Village Community, Woven from History
For over two centuries, Stonebridge Mills was a hotbed of industry and innovation, a much-loved Leeds landmark at the heart of the local community.
After textile manufacturing ceased, this historic site fell into disrepair, its potential unable to be enjoyed. Our vision was to transform it completely, to breathe new life into the former mill and create Stonebridge Beck: a tranquil village environment where a new community could thrive, anchored in its rich heritage and beautiful natural surroundings alongside Farnley Beck.
A Rich Heritage Reimagined
This transformation has created a unique collection of 112 high-quality homes, set within extensive public parkland.
A Blend of Old and New: The development features an attractive combination of newly converted cottages created from the historic mill buildings, alongside contemporary two, three, and four-bedroom townhouses.
Art from Industry: To celebrate the site’s heritage, we commissioned a public sculpture for the entrance. Titled ‘Embrace’, the work by artist Chris Knight features a salvaged water pump wheel framed by stainless steel, metaphorically representing the repurposing of the buildings and the embrace of home.
Today, the iconic water tower, once a symbol of industry, watches over a new, thriving community.
Stonebridge Beck is a testament to our passion for creating distinctive places with personality, transforming a cherished piece of Leeds’ past into a beautiful setting for its future.
