Melbourne House, a listed mansion with a landmark presence, presented a unique opportunity to do what we do best: to see the potential in a historic asset and thoughtfully reimagine it for a contemporary purpose. Our vision was to create a modern, high-quality headquarters that respected the building’s past while delivering on the demands of a forward-thinking business, proving that heritage and commerce can exist in perfect harmony.
A Considered Transformation
Our approach was one of careful restoration and bold addition, allowing old and new to work seamlessly together.
Sensitive Restoration: We meticulously restored the original listed Mansion House, preserving the soul and architectural integrity of the building while sensitively converting it into premium office space.
Contemporary Addition: Alongside the historic house, we designed and built a modern, complementary office wing, creating a powerful statement that blends the best of classic and contemporary design.
Award-Winning Conservation: This thoughtful approach was recognised with the Wakefield Council Conservation Award, a testament to our commitment to doing things properly.
Today, Melbourne House and its contemporary extension stand as the proud headquarters for KCOM.
