On Infirmary Street, one of Leeds’ most significant thoroughfares, stands Goodbard House, a special gem of Edwardian baroque architecture
Built in 1905 and wrapped in polished Peterhead granite, it has a rich history as a hotel and office complex. Our passion is to enliven Leeds’ extraordinary heritage, creating new histories whilst embracing the old ones. At Goodbard House, our vision was to enhance this building’s inherent character with a contemporary and creative touch.
A Considered Refurbishment
Our approach was to respect the building’s past while creating inspiring spaces for its present and future tenants.
A Modern Welcome: We have recently completed a comprehensive refurbishment of the main entrance, common areas, and washrooms, elevating the arrival experience and interior environment.
An Artistic Commission: To inspire curiosity, we commissioned artist Irini Stamatiadis, a prize-winning graduate of Central Saint Martin’s, to create a series of bold, colourful artworks for the space, adding a new layer of creative energy.
Today, Goodbard House offers a unique blend of historic charm and contemporary style.
This project showcases our commitment to not just preserving our city’s architectural treasures, but to continually enhancing them, ensuring they remain vibrant and relevant for years to come.
